Tomorrow is our last Sunday in our JOHN sermon series. I am a little sad…
This will be the 34th time we have taught in the book of JOHN within the last two years. I’m a little sad to know that we are moving on from this book. I love teaching from it. I love reading it. I love studying it.
We will be moving to an O.T. book to study soon. We have a few great teachings planned in the next couple of weeks and then a great sermon series before we launch into another book study.
What are some things that you would like to see a teaching on -either at Elevation’s gatherings, blog, or at a house church?

Great article from CNN.com on the 12 different types of people that are on facebook. I laughed so hard when I was reading this. I have a few friends that I could name for each one of these…

Ryan Lind, who blogs at Ream of Paper, was one of the founding pastors at Elevation Church back when we started our first house church in 2004. Listen to our podcast here and by Monday she be able to hear Ryan’s sermon as well.
Well…he is back this weekend with us here at Elevation Church.
Having him around has made so much come rushing back to me…
- we started a community that would be simple, would love Jesus, would care about the world it lived in and with
- transparency
- not about us as leaders or us as a church
- we can’t control anything, God controls all
- ministry is a process not an event
- people are important – Jesus died for them
- slowed paced and high speed…yep, that is us
- teach the Bible
- tell people what we are FOR and not what we are AGAINST
We are on a 98% growth rate from where we were this time last year…can you believe that? I can’t…Ryan is shocked…I think we broke all the rules of what they say you can handle as a church with growth. I’m proud of our Jesus community and humbled for what God is doing.
This is about Jesus…Jesus…Jesus…Jesus.
If it has ever felt like it is anything else, please forgive me for letting myself get in the way, but my heart beats for Jesus. May he continue to guide us as a community.

Kyle Korver and Deron Williams are putting on a dodgeball tournament Saturday, Sept. 12th @ the Zions Bank Basketball Center to benefit the kids at The Christmas Box House. Elevation Church is one of the sponsors of this event.
Here is what you can do to help.
1-Go to www.deronwilliams.net and sign up your own team to compete! If your team wins, you get to play against Kyle & Deron’s team.
2-If you are a business owner or know a business owner, we need a few more sponsors. Leave me a comment and I can get you information. Your business will not only get lots of media exposure, but will also get a team in the tournament. Time is very important in this…we need your help!
